72-13 is the new venue for the 2011 PromaxBDA Asia Conference and also the home of TheatreWorks.  This was previously an old building owned by the Bank of China in the Robertson Quay area, identified for development into a space for performing arts . A converted rice warehouse, the new space which has been completed in September 2005 is flexible enough to be a gallery, a cinema and a theatre. Developed at a cost of S$2.8 million, its primary purpose is to encourage collaborations, house residencies from artists around the world and to encourage hybrid creative expressions from young Singaporeans.
